Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a method that closes varicose veins by heating them with high-frequency radiofrequency energy. This technique is particularly effective in the treatment of large varicose veins and, thanks to modern technology, maximizes patient comfort. The radiofrequency method is a highly effective option for reducing symptoms caused by varicose veins and offers a low risk of complications.

Advantages:

  • The procedure is completed in a short time (approximately 30–40 minutes).

  • It is a minimally invasive technique.

  • It offers a rapid recovery period.

  • Bruising and swelling after the procedure are minimal.

  • It provides long-term success by naturally sealing the veins.

How Is It Performed?

During the procedure, a thin catheter is inserted into the vein, and radiofrequency waves are used to heat the vein walls. This heat causes the veins to contract and close. Blood circulation is redirected to healthy veins. Most patients can walk comfortably after the procedure and return to their normal activities within a few days. Mild redness and sensitivity in the treated area may occur but typically resolve quickly.
